Library to host picnic and its first car show

LEETONIA

Leetonia Community Public Library will have an end of the summer reading program potluck picnic at 1 p.m. July 31 at Wick Park in Leetonia.

To register call 330-427-6635 or stop in the library. The event will include hot dogs, drinks, games and prizes. Summer reading participants are encouraged to attend.

The library is collecting school supplies for local students from Aug. 1 through 22. Add contributions to the box near the front desk.

There will be a car show at the library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 11. Mater, the tow truck from the movie “Cars,” will appear. There is no entry fee, and the first 20 cars will receive awards. The event will include a raffle, food and a basket auction. Patrons should park in the back lot or on Summit, Chestnut or Wood streets.
