Zombie Prom will benefit March of Dimes
YOUNGSTOWN
Two local groups have found a way to bring life to a party by enlisting the help of the undead.
TruHyde Promotions & Apparel and The Collective Paranormal Research Society’s Zombie Prom will unfold from 8 to 11 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Ford Recital Hall in DeYor Performing Arts Center, 260 Federal Plaza West. All proceeds will go to the Mahoning Valley March of Dimes.
This Zombie Prom is an event for those 18 and older and will include snacks, a kitchen bar by Jeff Chrystal Catering and a cash bar. Dr. Benny B will spin tunes so you can dance the night away with a dance floor light show.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. for Joe Glenn, special effects artist, who will be available to give you a zombie makeover before the prom. CPRS will conduct raffles and will crown the king and queen of the undead. As well as ticket proceeds, raffle money and tips that Glenn receives all will go to the March of Dimes.
Admission is $15 per person in advance or $20 at the door. To order special advance tickets, email zombie_promYtown@yahoo.com or visit http://zombieprom2012.weebly.com/ and order your tickets with secure payment through Paypal. Special pricing is available until July 28.
Vendors and other sponsors include Paramania Radio, G.B.N.F. Denim and Zombie Skin. Anyone wishing to donate to the raffle is asked to email the above address.
The March of Dimes helps women have full-term pregnancies and researches the problems that threaten the health of babies. In communities all over the country, it helps mothers take charge of their health and supporting families when something goes wrong.
The March of Dimes also acts globally by sharing the best practices in prenatal health and helping to improve birth outcomes in areas where the need is most urgent.
