Water boil alert

Youngstown

A boil alert was issued for all Mahoning County residents affected by a water line break in the Mill Creek MetroParks.

A line on Volney Road broke Saturday, and Youngstown Water Department crews were able to isolate the break and restore service to customers who lost pressure, according to a news release.

Any customer in Boardman, Cornersburg or the South Side of Youngstown who lost all water pressure is advised to boil tap water used for drinking and cooking.

The Environmental Protection Agency said a rolling boil for one minute is adequate. Customers will be notified when the water has been tested and is considered safe for consumption.
