Children’s author to sign her book

AUSTINTOWN

An Austintown native has published “I Banish You Pink,” a children’s picture book about a little girl named Jacey, who decides that the color pink has changed and that she no longer wants it around.

Lori Whited Neidlinger said she created the book to engage and encourage young readers. It features colorful illustrations and targets children age 6 to 9.

She has scheduled two book-signing events in the area: Rita’s Ice Custard Happiness, on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown, from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday; and White House Fruit Farm, U.S. Route 62 south of Canfield, from noon to 5 p.m. next Sunday.

Neidlinger, a graduate of Youngstown State University, is the daughter of Bob and Joyce Whited of Austintown. She now lives in Peachtree City, Ga., with her husband, Rob, and two sons, Noah and Jarod.

Neidlinger said the idea came to her after a shopping experience with her young niece.

“Jacey’s story shows a positive way of dealing with the pressures of keeping up with the latest fashion trends while wanting to be true to yourself,” said Neidlinger.
