Raubenstraw restores Harley Davidson Superglide
Canfield’s Ron Raubenstraw has owned his 1972 Harley Davidson Superglide for the past 25 years. Through the years, he has spent a lot of time and energy replacing and fixing pieces of the bike. In fact, the only original parts of the bike are the frame and the rear wheel.
The engine is an S&S high performance “Shovelhead,” which has a reputation of being more powerful and dependable than the original Shovelhead. Raubenstraw recently installed the engine, with some help from Youngstown Cycle Supply. He also had a Wideglide springer (6-inch over stock) and brake and wheel installed to make the bike complete.
The whole process took 20 years and when he was ready, he took the machine to Guy Shivley from Guys Graphics in Austintown and had the custom paint flames put on.
After 25 years of hard work and dedication, Raubenstraw finally has the bike he always wanted.
