New farmer’s market open in Poland

A new Farmers Market will continue in Poland Village each Saturday through Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The location is behind the Poland Public Library at Yellow Creek Theater. There will be a wide range of products from fruits and vegetables, fresh cut flowers, honey, preserves, baked goods and even pet treats. All products are strictly locally raised or produced.

Barbara Delisio of Streetscapes is helping organize the market “We want to support our local food economy in a great community environment and this market offers the surrounding communities a way to find fresh and local goods in one area. We think people are more conscious of eating fresh foods and would rather eat foods grown locally rather than from another area of the country,” Delisio said.

Karen Dillon from Dillon Fruit Farm in Lisbon, Ohio, was the first to sign up for the market will be selling her farms fruits all season long. Vendor registration is still open. If interested contact Barbara Delisio at 330-707-1866 or Marcy Black at 330-651-6158.
