Fatal accident at Five Points knocks out power, stalls traffic

NEW SPRINGFIELD — The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed one person died in an accident at the Five Points intersection that knocked out power and stalled early morning traffic today.

Portions of Western Reserve and North Lima roads remain closed near the accident site. Ohio Edison and Mahoning County Engineer office crews are at the scene attempting to restore power and reroute traffic.

A sign at New Life Assembly Church was heavily damaged in the accident.
