Huntington Bank representatives say the downtown branch of the bank will likely be open no later than Monday after a major fire in the building Wednesday night.

The downtown branch of the bank on Central Square had a “closed” sign on the entrance all day Thursday.

Fire investigators and cleanup crews worked in the building throughout the day.

Firefighters were called to the building about 8 p.m. Wednesday for fire in the lobby of the building.

The fire department estimated about $150,000 in damages. An estimated loss of contents will be done at a later date.

Two people inside at the time of the fire had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

A security guard was overcome, and a cleaning woman had to be helped down from the building’s 11th floor.

The cleaning woman was taken from the building on a gurney after walking down 10 flights of stairs in smoke.
