A 23-year-old Francis Avenue Southeast man reported that he discovered a stranger and a man he knew in his house at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday and struggled with both before they got away.
The victim said he arrived home and noticed his rear kitchen door had been kicked in. Inside, he found an unidentified man standing in his dining room.
The man charged at the victim, leading to a fight. As the suspect fled out of a window, the victim saw a second man in his house, and this one was known to him.
“Man, I didn’t know this was your house,” the suspect said, “and I will pay you for anything that is damaged,” the suspect said.
The victim and second suspect got into an verbal and physical conflict, but the suspect also ran away.
Nothing was missing from the house, but two rifles had been moved to the kitchen, apparently in preparation for being stolen, the man told police.
