Hospitality tents now available at YSU

The Youngstown State Athletic Department is accepting reservations for the Penguin Party Lot for the upcoming football season.
Hospitality tents, which start at $215, provide groups with a fun-filled way to enjoy the best tailgate festivities on a YSU football gameday.
The tent area opens six hours before kickoff and a reservation includes a tent, two tables, two gameday tailgate parking passes in the Penguin Party Lot, gameday beverage delivery and ice delivery.
Tent purchases do not include game tickets. To make a tent reservation contact the marketing office at 330-941-7227.
Pikunas captures Ohio Junior title
MARION
Youngstown’s Jacinta Pikunas shot a 15-over 159 over two rounds to win the 13-and-under age group by five strokes at the Ohio Junior Girls golf championship at Marion Country Club.
Pikunas, 13, finished tied for fourth overall. She was the only girl under age 15 in the top 24. Pikunas won the girls crown at The Vindicator’s Greatest Junior Golfer of the Valley tournament last summer.
Youngstown’s Christine Bilas, 18, tied for 20th with a 167.
Markota golf scramble set at Old Dutch Mill

The Michael “Bub” Markota golf scramble will be held at the Old Dutch Mill golf course on July 26. The shotgun start will begin at 8 a.m.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Multiple Disabilities program at Western Reserve High School.

NBA has two preseason games in Canada
NEW YORK
The New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors will play a preseason game in Montreal as part of the NBA’s Canada Series.
Detroit and Minnesota will play in Winnipeg in the other game announced Tuesday by the league.
The Knicks and Raptors will meet Oct. 19 at the Bell Centre.
The MTS Centre will host the Pistons-Timberwolves matchup on Oct. 24.
Diego Maradona fired as Al Wasl soccer coach
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates
Diego Maradona has been fired as Al Wasl coach after the Argentine great failed to win a title for the Dubai club.
The board of directors met Tuesday and issued a statement saying Maradona and his technical staff had been immediately “relieved” of their duties. Maradona, who was on vacation and not in Dubai, could not be reached for comment.
A replacement for Maradona was not announced.
Maradona signed a two-year deal in May 2011. He was popular with fans and helped put United Arab Emirates soccer on the map. However, his team finished eighth in the 12-team league.
Di Gregorio arrested in cycling dope probe
VILLIE-MORGON, France
The longtime problem of doping hit the Tour de France head-on when a French rider was arrested at his team hotel and suspended by his team Tuesday.
Police made their move on the Tour’s first rest day in arresting Cofidis cyclist Remy Di Gregorio, with judicial officials saying two other people suspected of supplying the Frenchman with banned substances were also arrested — one along with the rider in Bourg-en-Bresse, and another in Marseille.
The officials requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly as the investigation is ongoing.
