Sports Grille to open in Cranberry
Staff report
A new restaurant will open in Cranberry, Pa., by September, says the former owner of a Boardman eatery, who has plans to set up shop and offer diners a family-friendly atmosphere.
Sean Pregibon, who owned and operated the Youngstown Sports Grille on South Avenue in Boardman, will lease the space that only two weeks ago housed a UNO Chicago Grill in Cranberry.
In March, after six years leasing his Boardman location, Pregibon faced pressure from the building’s owners to buy the space or move on.
He chose the latter, and allowed his year-to-year lease to expire.
At the time, he told The Vindicator that, “the business isn’t closing; we just need a new home.”
Pregibon began exploring venue options in both downtown Youngstown and Cranberry shortly after the Youngstown Sports Grille closed.
His new restaurant will be called The Sports Grille at Cranberry.
It will serve similar American-style food and cater to families with children.
The Sports Grille at Cranberry will tentatively have its grand opening Sept. 1.
