Report: Downed wires kill 3 cows in W. Pa.
ZELIENOPLE, Pa. (AP) — Penn Power is investigating after three cows died after an electrical problem on a farm about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh.
Emergency dispatchers say the incident happened early this morning at the Goehring Brothers Farm.
Workers from the power company were investigating several theories. A tree may have fallen on a power line, possibly sending a surge to a water line that traveled to the farm.
On Monday a similar incident killed 10 cows on a farm in the same region and also cut service to about 1,600 customers.
