Missing man sought
WARREN
Roderick Lewis is asking for the public’s help to find his 28-year-old cousin, who hasn’t been heard from since Sunday, when he went to a house on Meadowbrook Avenue Southeast.
The missing man is Jamaul R. Jones of Burton Street Southeast. Lewis, of Warren, said he’s concerned because he talks to his cousin every day and hasn’t been able to reach him on his cellphone since Sunday.
Jones’ father filed a missing persons report with the Warren Police Department on Monday morning.
I-80 accident
HUBBARD
Traffic on Interstate 80 was backed up late Tuesday afternoon after a FedEx tractor- trailer overturned.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren Post said the accident occurred about 4 p.m.
HazMat crews responded because some of the truck’s diesel spilled.
According to Vindicator news partner 21 WFMJ TV News, the OSHP believes the driver hit several potholes on the road, losing control of the truck, which struck a guardrail and flipped over.
The driver, Nicholas Tartaglia of Belvedere, N.J., was transported to an area hospital where he was listed Tuesday night in critical but stable condition.Campaign office
BOARDMAN
President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign is opening a Boardman office at 6:30 p.m. today at 4300 Market St.
United Auto Workers Local 1714 President Dave Green will be the guest speaker at the opening. Along with offices in Youngstown and Warren, the Boardman location will “serve as a community hub” for election activities, according to the Democratic president’s campaign.

The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, is having its second annual “Community Day at the J” from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The free family-fun day will include access to the center’s indoor swimming pool and kid-friendly entertainment. Hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
The schedule of outdoor activities at the event includes: noon to 4 p.m., Barnyard Petz Petting Zoo, bounce houses, and games; 1 p.m., Porgie the Clown; 2 p.m., Bubble Show; and 3 p.m., Jungle Bob’s Traveling Zoo.
The schedule of pool events include a 12:30 p.m. family tug of war; 1:30 p.m. water limbo competition; 2:30 p.m., water volleyball; and 3:30 p.m., cartoon in the pool and open swim.
Summer Sizzler

The Hubbard community pool, 250 Hall Ave., is hosting its eighth annual Summer Sizzler Saturday. The event will start at 1 p.m. and will have free swimming and an auction. There will be $1 food items such as rigatoni with meatballs, nachos and cheese, hot dogs, pizza and ice cream cones. Proceeds from the event will go toward improvements for the pool.
Police probe theft
Austintown
Township police are looking for the man who held up a gas station at gunpoint.
About 9:55 p.m. Monday, a white male entered the BP on state Route 46 wearing a black cap and sweat shirt with the hood pulled over his head, said Austintown Police Capt. Bryan Kloss.
Kloss said the man jumped over the counter, showed a handgun and demanded money from the store employee. He fled on foot eastbound on Route 46 with an undetermined amount of cash.
Buhl enters contest
HERMITAGE, pa.
Buhl Park in Hermitage, Pa., is taking part in a contest, America’s Favorite Park, sponsored by Coca-Cola.
People have until midnight Sunday to vote for their favorite parks. First-place prize is $100,000; second-place prize is $50,000; and third-place prize is $25,000.
The park is in 62nd place out of 6,500 entries.

Picnic for Rich Center

WeatherTite Windows will have its sixth annual picnic for the students, staff, parents and siblings of the Rich Center for Autism from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Church Hill Park here.
Rain or shine, the event will offer food, games, clowns, gifts, and surprises for the guests of the Rich Center. For the second year, Kohl’s Kares will be on hand to assist during the picnic.
The event offers public awareness of the Rich Center and the work they do for local children with autism.
