Autopsies confirm Newton Falls shooting deaths

Autopsies have confirmed that four people killed Friday in the East River Gardens neighborhood died as a result of gunshot wounds.

Rikki Cogley, 42, his wife, Kathy Cogley, 39, Kathy Cogley’s son, Everett Greathouse, 15, all of Trumbull Court, and Tracey Engler, 38, all died from multiple gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled homicides.

The man police think committed the killings and then killed himself, Robb Brazzon, 55, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound of the chest. He and Engler lived together on Newton Drive.

Engler died of gunshot wounds to the head and face, and the three other gunshot victims died of multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner’s office said.

Meanwhile, a benefit fund has been established at Huntington Banks to help defray funeral expenses of the victims and to assist the surviving members of the victims’ families, which include several children.

Donations can be made to the Falls Four Family Fund at any Huntington Bank. The fund is administered by Newton Falls Mayor Lyle Waddell and Newton Falls resident the Rev. Werner Lange.

A fundraiser to benefit the families will be at 6 p.m. today at the Newton Falls Community Center. All are welcome.

Services for Kathy Cogley and Everett Greathouse were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Newton Falls Baptist Church.

Kathy Cogley, a graduate of Southeast High School in 1992, worked as an assembler at General Motors in Lordstown. Everett would have been a freshman at Newton Falls High School this fall, according to their obituaries.

Calling hours for Tracey Engler will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sinchak & Sons Funeral Home in Warren.
