Report: 7-year-old Pa. boy shoots himself in the face

ARNOLD, Pa. (AP) — A 7-year-old boy has been flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after police and emergency dispatchers say he reportedly shot himself in the face at home.

Officials in Arnold, a tiny city about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, have not released the boy’s name or said how he got the gun or who owns it.

Westmoreland County dispatchers say initial reports indicate the boy may have accidentally shot himself.

He was taken to an urgent-care center in neighboring New Kensington before a medical helicopter transferred him to an unspecified hospital in Pittsburgh.
