Police have few leads in Warren shooting death

Staff report

WARREN

Police said they have few leads in the shooting death of Delshawn Scott, 36, who was killed by multiple shots from an assault rifle early Monday.

Scott, of 391 Charles Ave. SE, was found dead in his home after police were called to the home for gunshots fired.

The 911 call came in at 1 a.m., and police found Scott’s body soon afterward. Many gunshots were fired through the front of the house, police said.

It is the second homicide in the city this year, with the first one taking place Jan. 12 on Hayes Avenue Southwest in which Domin’Que L. Hugley, 21, of Saratoga Avenue Southwest was found dead after a robbery. Another 21-year-old Warren man told police he had been shot during the robbery but had escaped.

A 23-year-old Lane Drive Southeast man was charged in the case, but a Trumbull County grand jury refused to indict him, and he went free.
