Conneaut gets grant for roller coaster
Conneaut Lake, Pa.
Conneaut Lake Park has received a $25,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for the continuing renovation of the Blue Streak roller coaster. Earlier this year, the amusement park’s entire property met the PHMC’s criteria for eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. That eligibility gave Conneaut Lake Institute the opportunity to apply for a Keystone Historic Preservation Grant through the PHMC. Out of 86 applicants, 25 were selected for the grants.
The 1938 Blue Streak reopened in 2010 after having been closed since 2006. It holds the American Coaster Enthusiast’s Classic and Landmark Coaster designations.

James Bond exhibit
LONDON
If there’s one thing James Bond has taught us it’s that behind every great spy is a great tailor. A new exhibition at London’s Barbican Centre explores the style of the suave secret agent, displaying costumes, props, set pieces and design drawings from half a century of 007 films. Assembled with help from the films’ producers, the exhibition includes the spy’s tuxedos, Bond girl ball gowns and villains’ vestments, as well as a selection of props and gadgets.
