Canfield swim team defeats Poland

Eight swimmers won three events each to spark the Canfield Swim Club to a 316-179 victory over rival Poland on June 27.
Ty Schaab, who competed in 8 and under boys events, won the medley relay, freestyle and breaststroke. Luke Dietz (8 and under boys) won the medley relay, 50 backstroke and butterfly. Mickey Valasquez (9-10 boys) won the medley relay, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Jillian Baker (11-12 girls) earned the top spot in the medley relay, freestyle and butterfly. Sarah Heaven (15-18 girls) won the medley relay, 50 backstroke and the breaststroke. Mallory Allen (15-18 girls) won the medley relay, butterfly, and free relay races.
Alec Gaetano placed first in the freestyle, butterfly, and free relay. The final triple-first placer was Cullen Brady (11-12 boys), who won the 50 backstroke, butterfly and free relay.
There were also nine swimmers who won two events each for Canfield. Joe Klepec (9-10 boys) finished first in the medley relay and the 50 backstroke. Matthew Bogen (13-14 boys) won the medley relay and breaststroke. Jared Rothbauer (13-14 boys) won the medley relay and 50 backstroke. Mackenzie Hammond (11-12 girls) placed first in the medley relay and the 50 backstroke.
Olivia Williamson (15-18 girls) won the medley relay and freestyle races. James Dietz (11-12 boys) won the freestyle and free relay. Daniel Bogen (15-18 boys) won the freestyle and free relay, while Connor Brady (15-18 boys) earned first place in 50 backstroke and butterfly events. Finally, Nicky Montalto (15-18 boys) placed first in both the breaststroke and free relay,
Other boys winners were Ryan Schneider (8 and under medley relay), Cameron Sweeney (8 and under medley), Sirin Nalluri and Walter Sweeney both 9-10 medley relay, Ben Brucoli and Jack Pallante, who were both 13-14 medley relay, Jamie Wellham (15-18 medley relay), the 8 and under free relay team of Keegan Thorton, Jay Shindle, Connor Miller, and Gianni Marucci, Bobby Kutsch and Jonathan Gant (both 11-12 free relay), Nicholas Palermo, Ilmir Stefanides, and Sam Cannon (all of the 13-14 boys free relay team), and Drew Bennett and Kyle Anderson (15-18 free relay).
Other girls winners were Gina Launders and Lexi Gaetano (8 and under medley relay), Elle Dawson (9-10 freestyle), the 9-10 free relay team of Maggie Lumsden, Camyrn Kohut, Jordan Helmick, and Maya Marucci, the 11-12 free relay team of Lexi Grdic, Nichole Breuer, Rachel Beil, and Sydney Karlock, the 13-14 free relay team of Ashlyn Cleevely, Lara Quirk, Megan Gocala, and Sydney Stewart, and Briana O’Malley, Abbey Karlock, and Leslie Davis of the 15-18 free relay team.
