June 9

Arrest: While offering assistance after a vehicular accident in the 800 block of Cook Avenue, police arrested 45-year-old John Krusely III, 865 Cook, Boardman, on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a forgery charge.

Arrest: Officers arrested 25-year-old Kellie K. Kearney at her home, 240 Wildwood Drive, Boardman, on felony warrants charging her with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. Earlier, a township woman discovered her stolen store credit card had been used to make $697 worth of unauthorized purchases at the Boardman-Poland Road business.

Vandalism: Someone did about $1,000 in damage to the roof at Master Park Martial Arts International, 6021 Market St.

Trespassing: Kirk V. Sackela, 37, of 1863 Beaver Trail, Mineral Ridge, faced a criminal-trespassing charge when, police said, he was at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive, despite having been warned to stay away.

Theft: A bird feeder and a decorative light were stolen from a yard in the 1500 block of Sequoya Drive.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 60 block of Forest Garden Drive, from which a 42-inch TV and a laptop computer were taken.

Fraud: A Maramont Drive woman reportedly paid $8,150 in three installments after having received a call claiming her grandson had been arrested in Mexico. The woman realized it was a scam after she contacted a local family member and learned her grandson was in the area and never in Mexico.

Theft: A license plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 4300 block of Hopkins Road.

Harassment: A Forestridge Drive woman reported getting a series of such calls.

Theft: A computer-software package, a flashlight and a stun gun were stolen from a business in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard.

Drugs: A traffic stop near South Cadillac Drive led to the arrest of 41-year-old Robert M. Campy, 8030 South Ave., Boardman, on a felony drug-possession charge after police said they found a white powder in a bag that tested positive for cocaine.

June 10

Assaults: Two Howland women at the Southern Park Mall told police another woman threw a cup possibly containing soda and struck both of them.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered the garage to a vacant Overhill Road home.

Theft: A 14-year-old Youngstown girl and 18-year-old Breeanna M. Coulter, 922 Plaza Court, Youngstown, were charged with stealing two pairs of children’s sandals, a dress and various hygiene products from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road. Coulter also was charged with obstructing official business when a relative told police she had given them a false name and date of birth.

Burglary: Occurred at a vacant apartment in the 20 block of Erskine Avenue through a rear door.

Domestic violence: Officers charged a 13-year-old township girl after her mother alleged the teen had punched and slapped her in the back during an argument about cellphone privileges.

Theft: Someone stole various merchandise from CVS Pharmacy, 7230 Market St., before leaving in a pickup truck.

Theft: A 2,000-watt amplifier, a compact-disc player and a global-positioning-system unit were removed from a pickup truck in the 1800 block of Brandon Avenue.

Auto theft: A 2001 Dodge Stratus was stolen in the 100 block of Shields Road.

Theft: A purse was taken from a vehicle in the 5900 block of South Avenue.

June 11

Arrest: Amber C. Uscianowski, 21, was taken into custody at her home, 13169 Unity Road, New Springfield, on felony charges of forgery and receiving stolen property after a Shadyside Drive man discovered several personal checks had been cashed without permission for a total of $315.

Theft: A woman in her late teens or early 20s stole about $60 worth of cosmetics from Kmart.

Theft: A Meadowbrook Avenue man accused his former roommate of taking his laptop computer without permission.

Identity fraud: A Boardman woman told police she was notified that someone had used her Social Security number to file an income-tax return.

Harassment: A worker for a Windham Court business reported having received a series of sexually explicit calls.

Theft: A DVD player was removed from a car in the 7400 block of Ranier Trail.

Auto theft: A 2002 Buick Century was stolen in the 300 block of East Midlothian Boulevard.

Misuse of a credit card: A Wolcott Drive woman noticed an unauthorized $135 transaction from her bank account.

Arrest: Authorities took custody of 25-year-old Joseph F. Feret, 13 Midwood Circle, Boardman, who faced charges of receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools. The owner of a Southern Boulevard business reported both quarter panels, a tailgate and other parts were stolen off a Jeep vehicle.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 1400 block of Doncaster Drive was found with two slashed tires.

Drugs: Police responded to a suspicious person at a Boardman-Canfield Road store before charging 23-year-old Andrew D. Stanton with possession of drug-abuse instruments. Stanton, of 26 N. Navarre Ave., Austintown, also was wanted on a bench warrant accusing him of violating conditions of his probation related to a falsification charge.

Harassment: An Arden Boulevard man said his former girlfriend made roughly 91 unwanted calls to him.

Theft/criminal damaging: Someone took 40 CDs and other items from a car in the 6800 block of Glenwood Avenue and damaged a speaker box.

Theft: The owner’s manual, an insurance card and a business-card holder were taken from a vehicle in the 7500 block of Sugartree Drive.

Burglary: To a garage in the 1700 block of Basil Avenue, from which a $900 racing bike and related accessories were stolen.

Stolen property: Officers arrested 37-year-old Nicholas Morar at his residence, 4055 South Ave., Boardman, on one felony count each of misuse of a credit card and receiving stolen property after a South Avenue man learned his debit card had been used to remove $300 from his account without authorization.

Domestic violence: Police charged Pamela E. Hibbard, 65, and Troutman C. Hibbard, 73, both of 753 Ewing Road, Boardman, with the crime after a situation in which he alleged having been struck in the head with a metal stapler during an argument. Pamela Hibbard alleged he struck her chest with a glass bottle.

Assault: A vehicle check in the 7100 block of Market Street led to 39-year-old Antwan Johnson’s arrest. Johnson, of 1 Arms Blvd., Niles, was wanted on a simple-assault charge from Warren.

Burglary: Took place at an apartment in the 8200 block of Southern Boulevard. Stolen were an electric bill and a check.

Theft: A New Middletown woman reported the theft of her $400 cellphone at Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Police responded to a disturbance in the 6900 block of Market Street, where they arrested 19-year-old Shaqual A. Harmon, 1434 Willow Court, Youngstown, on a theft charge.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a garage in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue and removed a $100 GPS device from a vehicle.

June 12

Theft: A Glenwood Avenue girl reported her $50 cellphone stolen.

June 15

Theft: A Buchanon Drive woman told police a plumbing company continued to charge her for services despite her having canceled a membership with the business.

Assault: Officers responded to a fight between two women at the Southern Park Mall in which one woman reported having been struck in the left cheek with a set of keys. Both were issued criminal-trespassing warnings.

Robbery: Tommy T. Grant, 18, of 441 Breadon St., Youngstown, faced two counts of aggravated robbery after two males walking near Hudson and Prestwick drives told police a man had asked if they wished to buy marijuana before pointing a firearm at their legs and demanding money. The victims gave the robber a wallet and a cellphone, a report said.

Domestic violence: Frank Ciavarella Jr., 33, of 5285 Pinetree Lane, Boardman, was charged after Ciavarella’s wife alleged he had threatened her and their children.

Harassment: A worker at a Mentor, Ohio, tanning salon reported a man has been making vulgar and sexually-explicit calls to the business that may have originated in Boardman.

Assault: Myesha A. Thomas, 20, of 1848 Paisley St., Austintown, surrendered on a simple-assault charge after two women at the Southern Park Mall reported someone they knew struck them with a cup containing a beverage.

Harassment: A worker for a Market Street gas station said someone made sexual calls and referred to him as a terrorist.

June 16

Theft: A man reported $20 stolen from his wallet while at an apartment in the 100 block of Stadium Drive.

Endangerment: A Cook Avenue man told officers his wife returned to his apartment and alleged that while arguing with him, she left their 5-month-old son alone in a vehicle.

Arrest: Police at the Southern Park Mall inquired about a vehicle in a handicap space with no placard, which led to the arrest of 21-year-old Willie A. Gregory, 66 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Citation: Police near Western Reserve Road and Interstate 680 cited 67-year-old Aldo R. Damato, 8149 Morningside Drive, Poland, on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Theft: Michael R. Burt, 39, was arrested on a warrant. Burt, of 69 Romaine Ave., Boardman, was accused of stealing a $48 DVD player from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to enter an apartment in the 6300 block of South Avenue and damaged a door knob.

June 17

Robbery: An employee with a West Boulevard business reported that while returning to her car, a man 6 feet 2 inches tall, 200 to 220 pounds in his 40s with facial hair and a dark bandana pushed the accuser, causing her to hit her head and injure her left arm, before stealing her purse and fleeing on foot.

Domestic violence: Amber A. Fry, 18, of 5581 Tracy Drive, Boardman, was taken into custody on a warrant after a Canfield man alleged Fry had struck his neck during an argument related to family matters.

Arrest: Authorities received information that a disgruntled customer had threatened to damage a Southern Park Mall store before taking 34-year-old John C. Minogue of Pontiac, Mich., into custody. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge related to a theft count.

Assault: A woman had swelling near her left eye and a scratch before reporting she had been punched while in a parking lot in the 4000 block of Hillman Way.

Menacing: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road fast-food restaurant told authorities an agitated customer got out of a vehicle, pounded on the drive-through window and threatened to harm her.

Identity fraud: An employee of a Boardman-Poland Road eatery found out two of his credit cards had been used to make two unauthorized transactions totaling about $684.

June 18

Arson: A Crystal Drive man told police someone had set fire to his trash at the end of his driveway.

Burglary: To a home in the 100 block of Melbourne Avenue through a rear door. Stolen was a $3,000 computer.

Trespassing: A chiropractor on South Commons Place reported seeing a man sitting in the building’s basement. No charges were filed, though the man was asked not to return.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop near Tippecanoe Road led to 20-year-old Angelina M. Soto’s arrest on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Soto, of 4158 Canfield Road, Youngstown, had a suspected marijuana pipe and a digital scale with suspected marijuana residue, police said.

Theft: A $400 kindle-reader device was removed from a home in the 1100 block of Shadeland Drive.

Harassment: A man in the 40 block of McClurg Road reported getting such text messages.

Theft/criminal damaging: Numerous appliances and pieces of furniture were missing or damaged at a residence in the 4100 block of Oak Knoll Drive.

Burglary: To a second-floor apartment in the 1100 block of Boardman-Canfield Road, possibly with a key, though police saw no signs of forced entry.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 500 block of Boardman-Canfield Road placed rocks in a car’s engine and did an estimated $1,000 in damage.

Theft: A man reported his $220 cellphone stolen at an apartment in the 8200 block of Southern Boulevard.

Vandalism: Someone burned an unknown substance in a faulty fireplace at an East Huntington Drive townhouse, which resulted in a light coating of soot on the walls, ceilings and vents.

June 21

Assault: Two witnesses traveling in a vehicle on Market Street reported seeing a male assaulting a female in the road, though no other information was available.

June 22

Theft: Police charged Joshua S. Essad, 27, of 4930 Brookwood Road, Boardman, with tearing a piece of aluminum foil from a box at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Theft: A woman stole eight pairs of women’s jeans and other merchandise from Dillard’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Breaking and entering: Four tires and four rims were removed from a garage in the 80 block of Homestead Drive, for an estimated $2,500 loss.

Theft: A $240 air-conditioning unit was stolen from a piece of rental property in the 4000 block of South Schenley Avenue.

Theft: Someone in the 2000 block of Mathews Road removed a $180 aluminum baseball bat and a small sum of money from a vehicle.

Harassment: An employee with a Boardman-Canfield Road business said a former family member has been making such calls while she was at work.

Drug paraphernalia: A traffic stop on Market Street led to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia against 21-year-old Mohammad Y. Khan, 5610 Southern Blvd., Boardman, when, authorities said, a suspected marijuana pipe was found.

Arrest: A search warrant to a Lemans Drive apartment led to the arrest of 24-year-old Marlon A. Swiggett, 111 Lemans, on charges of possession of criminal tools and drug paraphernalia when, police said, a digital scale and suspected marijuana were found. Swiggett also was wanted on a probation-violation charge from Campbell.

Drugs: While executing a search warrant on Meadowbrook Avenue, police took into custody Justin M. Malice, 26; Richard R. Renfro, 30; and Tiffany B. Michalak, 31, all of 86 Meadowbrook, on a variety of drug-related charges. Three bags of a white powder, a suspected marijuana pipe and a spoon with suspected heroin residue were among contraband found. Michalak faced an additional child-endangering charge after authorities said an 8-year-old boy was discovered in a bedroom.

June 23

Theft: Brittnie D. Morris, 20, of 208 E. LaClede Ave., Youngstown, Paris A. Loury, 20, of 4020 Hillman Way, Boardman, and Roselynn Lassalle, 23, of 911 Madison Ave., Youngstown, all were charged with stealing $256 worth of merchandise from Walmart. All were released on summonses.

Vandalism: A Jeep’s passenger-side door sustained $500 in damage in the 8500 block of South Avenue.

Misuse of a credit card: An Aylesboro Avenue woman discovered two unauthorized charges totaling $600 on her credit-card statement.

Theft: A Southern Boulevard woman said her former boyfriend refused to return various articles of clothing and some of her son’s toys.

Felonious assault: A Jaguar Drive man alleged a neighbor struck his head with an undetermined object, resulting in a bloody mouth, a loose tooth and a large cut for all of which he sought medical treatment. The neighbor contended he was defending himself.

Aggravated menacing: A Clifton Drive man reported two males in his yard threatened to burn down his home.

Theft: A man stole a $130 Bluetooth headset from AT&T, 7125 Tiffany Blvd.

Aggravated menacing: A Boardman-Canfield Road man told police a former co-worker came to his apartment and threatened to shoot him regarding money owed.

Theft: Police picked up Anthony J. Geraci Jr., 40, of 173 Country Green Drive, Austintown, on a warrant. He was accused of stealing a $320 nail gun from Rental Corral, 4627 Market St.

June 24

Domestic violence: David T. Fink, 47, of 409 Rockdale Ave., Boardman, faced a misdemeanor domestic-violence charge as well as felony charges of intimidation and vandalism after his girlfriend alleged Fink had repeatedly slapped her head. Fink also threatened several times to kill an officer, then kicked and damaged a window while in the police cruiser, a report showed.

Theft: Two women in their 20s stole $25 worth of merchandise from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Assault: A Salinas Trail man alleged a neighbor shoved him and entered the accuser’s vehicle.

Theft: Someone removed $10 from a car parked in the 60 block of Alburn Drive.

Theft: A $300 iPod device and $55 were missing from a vehicle in the 7400 block of West Boulevard.

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 100 block of Shadyside Drive tried to force open a vehicle’s driver’s-side door, damaging its panel.

Theft: A purse, a global-positioning-system unit and a cellphone were taken from a car in the 7600 block of Spring Park Drive.

Criminal trespassing: Police received information about a man asking customers for money at a Hillman Way bank’s automated-teller machine.

Theft: Police charged a 15-year-old Youngstown girl with stealing seven cosmetic items from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road.

Domestic violence: Matthew J. Treharn, 26, of 2034 Woodward Ave., Poland, surrendered on a warrant after his girlfriend, of Boardman, alleged Treharn had grabbed her hair and kicked her several times in the stomach and legs during an argument.

Theft: Ryan J. Connor, 31, of West Aliquippa, Pa., was charged in the theft of an air-conditioning unit and a deep fryer from Walmart.

Domestic violence: Youngstown police arrested Kelli D. Coffer, 28, of 4020 Hillman Way, Boardman, on a felony domestic-violence charge after Coffer’s sister alleged he had punched her head and lip and tried to choke her. The charge was a felony because of a prior domestic-violence conviction, a report said.

June 25

Burglary: Someone cut a screen to a rear door, entered a residence in the 50 block of Southwoods Drive and took a 32-inch, flat-screen TV and several other items.

Stolen property: Samantha J. Gatte, 18, of 22 Shadyside Drive, Boardman, faced one felony count each of receiving stolen property and forgery as well as a misdemeanor count of passing a bad check after officers responded to CheckSmart, 112 Boardman-Poland Road, regarding a stolen $125 check. Gatte tried to cash another person’s check without authorization, a report said.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 300 block of East Midlothian Boulevard had a broken driver’s-side window and had been ransacked.

Felonious assault: Police charged a 14-year-old Boardman male with felonious assault and domestic violence after a family member reported having received a superficial cut as he tried to take from the angry teen a kitchen knife the boy threatened to use to commit suicide.

Arrest: Police responded to a report of an intoxicated person at the Boardman Plaza before charging 58-year-old William R. Watson with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Watson, of 7109 Market St., Boardman, became hostile, continually shouted obscenities and briefly struggled with police, they said.

Theft: Several credit and debit cards were removed from a car at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

Counterfeit: A phony $10 bill was passed at a BP gas station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Possible fraud: An official with a Canfield business told police an employee of one of his companies oversaw roofing and siding work to a Windel Way home before a resident reported an $8,100 insurance-claim check missing.

Criminal damaging: A car in the 80 block of Lemans Drive was found with damage to two doors and a window. The estimate was $1,150.

Theft: A customer rented but failed to return a $600 carpet-scrubbing machine to Dollar General, 859 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Theft: A man in his mid-30s stole two boxes of tablets from Dollar General, 5953 South Ave.

Menacing: An Austintown woman reported that while leaving the Southern Park Mall, her former husband was nearby watching her.

Harassment: A Friendship Avenue man reported getting several unwanted hang-up calls.
