Three arsons keep Youngstown firefighters busy
Three arsons keep Youngstown firefighters busy
YOUNGSTOWN
In an effort reminiscent of the battle against a string of overnight fires in May, city firefighters worked to contain three fires set almost simultaneously on the South Side.
Fire erupted at an empty building on the Oakhill Avenue just after 1 a.m. That fire was followed within minutes by two fires set along Hillman Street. The second and third fires were at vacant homes.
All three firefighters appear to have been intentionally set.
Firefighters at the end of May battled 13 fires set on the South Side between the night of May 30 and the morning of May 31. Each of those fires were determined to have been intentionally set.
No arrests have been made in the string of fires from June or the fires set this morning.
