Brainchild members to raise money at Inner Circle

Two members of the musical group Brainchild, which was popular in the Youngstown area in the early 1970s, will help to raise money at Inner Circle restaurant, 1816 Boardman-Poland Road in Poland on Monday.
Bill Bodine and Dan Marshall now run CreativeBridge Coalition, a nonprofit organization that works to find music programs for young children and those with special needs.
Bodine is one of the founding members of the Youngstown State University jazz program. A Grammy-winning songwriter, he composed tunes for Glen Frey and Manhattan Transfer. He also has played on tours with Van Morrison, Melissa Manchester and Cher.
Marshall played with rock bands New Hudson Exit, Roadshow and Brainchild. He is an author and a faculty member at the National College of Education in Evanston, Ill., and Penn State University in State College, Pa.
Bodine and Marshall will work as servers from 6 to 8 p.m. at Inner Circle to collect tips for the Rich Center for Autism at YSU. The evening will include a basket auction and raffle.
