ODNR issues 2 new drilling permits in the Mahoning Valley

YOUNGSTOWN — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources issued two new permits for horizontal drilling for Mahoning Valley locations.

Both went to Chesapeake Exploration LLC and were done on June 29.

One was for a site in Beaver Township in Mahoning County. The site is located northwest of Columbiana off West Garfield Road between Germantown and Green Beaver roads.

The second was in Columbiana County in Knox Township. It is located off Center Road between South Bandy Road and Knox School Road. The site is less than a mile east of Knox Elementary School.
