No drugs, alcohol
STRUTHERS
The teenager who drove the van that flipped and rolled on state Route 616, killing one of six occupants, had no drugs or alcohol in his system. Robert A. Thompkins, 18, of Campbell lost control of the van and hit a curb near Frank Street around 10:50 p.m. June 10. The impact threw everyone from the van, and Tyrell Freeman, 18, of Campbell was killed. Struthers Police Chief Tim Roddy said his department received the results of blood tests taken at the hospital, and they showed nothing in Thompkins’ system. He is still waiting for Ohio State Highway Patrol reports from its investigation at the scene.
