MAHONING COUNTY
Austintown: Grand marshals for the 2 p.m. parade Wednesday will be Detroit Lions offensive lineman Dan Gerberry, a graduate of Fitch High School, and Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman Mike McGlynn. The parade will begin at the corner of Raccoon and Kirk roads and travel north on Raccoon to Falcon Drive.
Struthers: Parade will begin at noon Wednesday at Struthers Fifth Street Plaza. Registration, sign-in is from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Local celebrities will judge units for prizes in various categories.
Youngstown: Fireworks downtown at dusk Wednesday.
Boardman: On Thursday, at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theater in Boardman Park, the Jazz Ambassadors U.S. Army Field Band will perform at 8 p.m. and fireworks approximately 9:45 p.m. Concessions are available.
TRUMBULL COUNTY
Liberty: Freedom Place and Liberty Assembly of God will host a fireworks celebration at 10 p.m. today, at 6779 Belmont Ave., on the corner of Crews Hood, halfway between Tibbetts-Wick Road and old state Route 82. Live music and concessions will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Howland: Opening of the first stage of Howland Township History Center, 4 p.m. today, Township Administration Building, state Route 46. It will include newly framed photographs and portraits of Joseph Howland and his immediate family and historical documents, which will be unveiled in the meeting room.
Howland: Bicentennial reception and open house, Butler Institute of American Art, Howland Branch, 9350 E. Market St., 5 to 7 p.m. today. The National Packard Museum will have on display a Packard and Sterling Knight that were built in Howland. Light refreshments served. Take II will provide entertainment. Free.
Howland: Independence Day celebration, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Orwig Park and Howland High School; parade; 5K Stars and Stripes run and walk sponsored by St. Joseph Health Center at 8 a.m.; music, food, children’s activities, and more. Pet parade, car show and Pizza Works pizza-eating competition.
Niles: Fireworks displays will follow Mahoning Valley Scrappers home game Wednesday at Eastwood Field.
Warren: Fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW.
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
Salem: Fireworks begin at dusk today at Waterworth Memorial Park, 866 Sunset Blvd.
East Palestine: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday at East Palestine City Park.
East Liverpool: Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday at the downtown wharf over the Ohio River.
MERCER COUNTY
Hermitage: Sixth annual Fireworks Extravaganza beginning at 9:40 p.m. today on East State Street.
Grove City: Community patriotic program from 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Music provided by the Harrisville Community Band, followed by a fireworks display, at Grove City College Football Field, Lower Campus, Grove City College. Free admission.
LAWRENCE COUNTY
New Wilmington: Old-fashioned Independence Day celebration, 7:30 p.m. today at Brittain Lake. Free concert and fireworks. River City Brass Band, Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipers Band, Kathy Mansell and Ali Pabrinkis will be the entertainment. Pennsylvania National Guard will present the flag. Food vendors will be on site. Evening will be capped by fireworks. In case of rain, the concert will be at Anderson Amphitheater.
New Wilmington: The Jameson-New Wilmington Community Health Center celebrates 20 years in business with recognitions at 5:30 p.m. today at the Independence Day Concert by the Lake at Westminster College. Attractions for children include face painting, duck-pond fishing and health education.
