Hubbard police seek woman involved in armed robbery
Staff report
HUBBARD
City police are searching for a woman involved Sunday in an armed robbery at a local Subway restaurant.
Police said a woman, dressed in black, walked into Subway on West Liberty street around 10:10 p.m.
She went directly behind the counter, pointed a gun at an employee and demanded money. She took $500 from the register and the safe, before fleeing in a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle.
Police said the employee described the woman as a black female in her 40s, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
The woman’s description is similar to a suspect involved in two Dollar General robberies that occurred in Hubbard on April 27 and in Liberty Township on June 17, said detective Sgt. David C. Oaks.
He said there was only one employee inside the store at the time of the robbery.
Police are planning to look at surveillance camera footage for more clues.
