GOOD MORNING

Independence bash

Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., will host an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration with a free concert and fireworks at 7:30 tonight at Brittain Lake. The concert will feature the River City Brass Band, Pittsburgh Firefighters Memorial Pipers Band and vocalists Kathy Mansell and Ali Pabrinkis.

Attendees can bring blankets and lawn chairs, as well as picnic baskets and refreshments. Food vendors will be on site. In case of rain, the concert will be in Anderson Amphitheater.

Trunk sale

Sts. Peter and Paul Jr. UOL will sponsor a trunk-sale fundraiser for the church’s youth group from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 21 at the Orthodox Center parking lot, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Participants can load up their trunks and sell items from the backs of their vehicles. Cars, trucks and vans will be assigned one spot for $10, and RVs and campers will be assigned two spots for $15.

Reserve a spot by filling out a registration form and submitting payment. Participants can enter the lot at 7 a.m. for setup, and their areas should be cleaned and vacated by 7 p.m. Contact Dorothy Mehalco at 330-792-0335, Ken Senediak at 330-539-6022 or Darlene Moon at 330-881-8134 for information.
