Bear seen in Newton Falls

NEWTON FALLS

Residents of Newton Falls reported several bear sightings over the weekend, the most recent ones on at 11:18 p.m. Sunday on South Canal Street near the city park and at 4 p.m. Sunday on West Jay Street.

Residents also reported bear sightings at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Warren Road and Ticknor Avenue. This is the first time this summer a bear has been sighted in the village, a police dispatcher said.

The sightings didn’t involve any injuries or property damage.
