Toyota tops Kuboff, wins B series

Edmond Pilolli had two hits and scored two runs to lead fourth-seeded Toyota of Warren to a 2-1 series victory with a 4-2 victory over No. 5 Kuboff & Associates in a Class B playoff game Saturday at Cene Park.

Pilolli started and gave up two runs in 51/3 innings for Toyota, which scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to win. G.J. Senchak picked up the win in relief, recording the final five outs. Toyota plays the top-seeded Astro Falcons today at 5 and 8:30 p.m. on Cene 1.

Bryan Stafford hit an inside-the-park homer for Kuboff, while Sam Donko added an RBI triple.

Sean Coyne had a hit, an RBI and scored a run for Kuboff.

Kevin Sierra had two hits, including a double, and scored a run while Leo Fleintes added two hits of his own and drove home a run as well.

Jeremy Quinlan pitched a complete game for Kuboff to pick up the win, giving up three runs on nine hits with five strikeouts and a walk.

Senchak led Toyota with two hits, including a double, and two RBIs while Cody Pitzo added two hits and scored two runs.

No. 3 Creekside Fitness 3, No. 6 Livi Steel 2

Cory Hickman tripled and scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as Creekside won the series 2-0.

Creekside will meet second-seeded Roth Brothers at 5 p.m. today at Cene 2.

Justin McGinnis had a hit, an RBI and a run while Zarley Zolenski had three hits and drove home a run.

Mike Montalbano had a hit and scored both of Livi’s runs while Joe Wilaj had a hit and the team’s lone RBI and Ryan Wolfe doubled.
