Concert, fireworks at Boardman Park

BOARDMAN

The internationally acclaimed Jazz Ambassadors of the U.S. Army Field Band of Washington, D.C., will present a free concert at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre in Boardman Park.

A fireworks display will follow the concert at 9:45 p.m.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Concessions will be available.

Alcohol is prohibited.

The rain location will by Boardman High School Performing Arts Center.

Back to the ’50s Weekend returns

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Back to the ’50s Weekend, the 26th annual classic car show and music festival, will be Friday through next Sunday at Cascade Park.

More than 1,000 restored classic cars and trucks will be on display at the festival, which has been featured in Hot Rod, Street Rodder and Super Rod magazines.

The entertainment schedule includes Roscoe Dash with Ren Capri and Ren Capri at 8 p.m. Thursday; The Holidays, the Jaggerz and the Dorals Friday; The Marcels and the Dorals Saturday; and Johnny Angel and the Halos, Chuck Blasko and the Vogues July 8.

New this year will be a blessing of the cars at 9 a.m. July 8. Food and auto parts vendors, and a women’s world in the Carasoul building, with craft, jewelry, candle and purse vendors, will also be part of the event.

Tickets are $20 from 5-10 p.m. Thursday (young adults day); $5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the rest of the days; and $10 from 3-10 p.m. Go tobacktothe50sweekend.com for information.
