Ohio State University Extension office is sending experts to Youngstown-area communities this month to help them grow their own food. Every Monday, beginning this week through Aug. 20, experts will meet at various community-garden locations to share details about plants growing at that garden and to answer gardening questions. Eric Barrett and Bill Snyder from the extension service office will offer their expertise on home vegetable gardens.
On Monday, the group meets at 6 p.m. at Fairgreen Neighborhood Garden & North Quarter Farm, 1443 Ohio Ave. (corner of Ohio and Fairgreen avenues), on Youngstown’s North Side.
Participants should bring a notepad and a lawn chair for seating as well as their gardening questions. Details are posted on the website at http://go.osu.edu/Veggies. For information, contact OSU Extension 330-533-5538 or go to its website, http://mahoning.osu.edu.
