Eclectic Fla. museum to be emptied by auction

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — A one-of-a-kind private museum assembled by two wealthy Florida brothers is going on the auction block.

Bob and Paul Milhous are liquidating their collection in Boca Raton after spending decades scouring the world to find its gems.

It’s an eclectic mix of items in a 39,000-square-foot museum that has only ever been open to private gatherings.

Highlights are collector cars and rare musical instruments, but the museum also features a carousel, an Army airplane and vintage barbershop equipment.

All told, the Milhous Collection is expected to fetch around $40 million when it’s auctioned off next month.
