Snowflake Ball will sparkle by candlelight at Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN

Members of Epsilon Mu Omega and Delta Delta chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will host their annual Snowflake Ball by Candlelight from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for scholarships and community service projects supported by the sorority. AKA’s current signature initiatives are focused on Emerging Young Leaders, Health Initiatives, Global Poverty, Economic Security, Social Justice and Human Rights Initiative and Internal Leadership Training for External Service. In keeping with these initiatives, some of the local support has gone to Mahoning Valley Rescue Mission, Angel Tree Project, Sojourner House, Red Door Caf , Dress for Success, NAACP, Alzheimer’s Association, Black Nurses Association, American Heart Association, Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.

Admission to the ball is $40 per person, and tickets can be purchased from any sorority member. The cost includes dinner, and dancing to music provided by the Total Package Band. Formal attire is preferred. For more information call 330-718-5767.
