Austintown residents Ron and Robin Brooks won a new 2012 Ford Focus, which was presented to them in Pittsburgh on Jan. 17. Eat’n Park Restaurants and the Neighborhood Ford Store teamed up for the presentation, a result of Eat’n Park’s Caring for Kids Campaign, which raised money for children’s hospitals and children’s charities in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. The Ford raffle raised more than $140,000 for the campaign. The Brookses’ winning ticket was drawn Dec. 14 by a patient at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh from more than 70,000 tickets sold. The new car will replace the Brooks family’s minivan, which has racked up more than 250,000 miles. Ron Brooks will use the Focus for his weekly drives to the Cleveland Clinic, where he receives medical treatment. The Neighborhood Ford Store, which comprises 82 Ford Dealers in Southwest Pennsylvania, southeast Ohio and the panhandles of Maryland and Virginia, donated the Focus this year. They also donated a new Ford for last year’s Caring For Kids Campaign.
