POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:

GIRARD

Jan. 18

Harassment: An East Prospect Street man reported receiving multiple unwanted calls daily.

Menacing: A Hazel Street girl said a student has been threatening her at school.

Criminal damaging: One BB hole each was found in two living-room windows at a residence in the 40 block of Park Avenue. Damage came to about $1,000.

Jan. 19

Robbery: Police charged 26-year-old Craig Siciliano, 509 Washington Ave., Girard, with robbery after three items were stolen from Santisi’s IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St. Siciliano fought with two employees, one of whom reported having been bitten, when they tried to prevent him from leaving, a report showed.

Jan. 20

Theft: An Ohio Avenue woman discovered two DVDs missing from her home.

Jan. 21

Criminal damaging: Someone tossed a cinderblock through a window to a home in the 100 block of Church Hill Road and did $200 in damage.

Jan. 22

Arrest: Officers responding to a disturbance in the 100 block of South Davis Street took into custody 54-year-old Karen Halliday of Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on a warrant from Weathersfield Township police accusing her of failing to appear in court to face a trespassing charge.

Burglary: Took place in the 300 block of Indiana Avenue, where three flat-screen TVs, Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 systems and jewelry were taken, for a $3,750 loss.

Robbery: A man told police his son was beaten and robbed of an iPhone and a set of earrings while visiting a residence in the 200 block of Taylor Avenue.

Jan. 23

Theft: A Morris Avenue woman reported someone tried to use her stolen debit card at a Liberty Township big-box store.

Criminal damaging: Someone kicked in and damaged a rear door to a condominium in the 1100 block of Marie Drive. The estimate was $500.

Jan. 24

Possible theft: Police were notified of a lost or stolen $400 computer while at Girard High School, 1244 Shannon Road.

HUBBARD

Jan. 20

Theft: Property was stolen from a residence in the 600 block of West Liberty Avenue.

Recovered property: A truck was recovered in the 6000 block of World Boulevard.

Theft: Police arrested 44-year-old Dale M. Harrison, 3332 Bellwick Road, Hubbard, on a theft count.

Jan. 21

Criminal damaging: A resident in the 2000 block of Lewis-Seifert Road filed a report.

Arrest: Timothy Tonkinson, 21, of 3598 Woodbine Ave., Hubbard, was picked up on a warrant.

Jan. 23

Stolen property: Darryl Sweesey, 44, of 1693 Brookfield Road, Hubbard, faced a charge of receiving stolen property.

Jan. 24

Counterfeit: A fake bill was passed at Burger King, 2437 N. Main St.

Harassment: A resident in the 3000 block of Creed Avenue reported being the victim of phone harassment.

LIBERTY

Jan. 18

Assault: A Monticello Boulevard man told police a neighbor shoved the accuser and his son, pinning the son behind a door.

Aggravated menacing: A Craig Street woman said her former boyfriend has made numerous such calls, including warnings that she would be harmed.

Assault/drugs: Authorities responding to a shoplifting situation at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, charged Summer E. Alderman, 33, of 617 W. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, with three drug counts, and Charles Foster, 38, of 75 New York Ave., Youngstown, with assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. A suspected crack pipe and a syringe with a substance consistent with heroin use were in Alderman’s purse, police said. Also, authorities had to use a stun gun on Foster, who had struck an officer’s chest before leading police on a foot pursuit, a report showed.

Aggravated menacing: A Laurel Avenue man alleged a neighbor threatened to cut his neck with a razor blade regarding the accuser’s daughter’s playing a musical instrument.

Possible theft: A Youngstown man noticed his wallet missing while at Walmart.

Jan. 19

Domestic violence: Police charged 19-year-old Cody N. Wilson, 1203 Rose Ave., Girard, with the crime after saying they found Wilson’s brother lying in snow. The brother suffered a chipped tooth before alleging Wilson had punched his face during a dispute regarding another family member.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Gypsy Lane resulted in a summons against 32-year-old Terrell L. Leonard, 2813 Julian St., Youngstown, charging him with disorderly conduct. Leonard became upset and threw an iced-tea bottle, striking the officer and splashing the liquid on him, a report said.

Burglary: Someone jimmied the front door to a residence in the 10 block of Trumbull Court before stealing an Xbox system and games, 10 DVDs, a computer and medications. The loss came to $2,220.

Trespassing: Officers charged 31-year-old Jesus D. Dehostos, 64 W. Florida Ave., Youngstown, with criminal trespassing after saying he was on a piece of property in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard despite his having been advised to stay away. Dehostos also was charged with possession of dangerous drugs when, police said, he had five pills in wrapping from a cigarette pack.

Jan. 20

Fraud: A Sodom-Hutchings Road woman learned that a debit card she had misplaced at a Belmont Avenue gas station was later used to make unauthorized charges.

Arrest: Authorities at the Mahoning County jail picked up John W. Lacy, 64, of 378 Lora Ave., Youngstown, who was accused of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.

Jan. 21

Arrest: Police in the 4200 block of Belmont Avenue took 52-year-old Raymond L. Lewis into custody. Lewis, of 2506 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, was wanted on a criminal-trespassing charge.

Jan. 22

Arrest: Keith A. Hilliard, 23, of 706 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Vienna, was arrested near state Route 193 and Tibbetts-Wick Road on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jan. 23

Theft: A Trumbull Court woman reported a bottle of her son’s prescription medication was taken from their apartment.

Arrest: Boardman police apprehended 36-year-old Correl Stubbs, 458 Judson Ave., Youngstown, who was wanted on a township warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court.

Assault: A man alleged that one of his clients was struck on the right side of the face by an employee of a township group home at which the client resides.

Jan. 24

Attempted robbery: Two males, age 16 to 18, handed a threatening note to an employee with Belmont Sweeps Inc., 3103 Belmont Ave., demanding money but fled in a blue or gray Chrysler vehicle after the worker drew a firearm.
