During a recent fundraiser, the students at Robinwood Elementary went above and beyond to provide money for the school’s Student Activity Fund.

As a thank-you for their hard work, a surprise greeted the students when they entered school on Jan. 20. Students found their all-purpose room filled with an inflatable bounce castle, slide and obstacle course.

Principal Don Robinson said the party was a drop in the bucket compared to the funds the students raised to provide for field trips, assemblies, transportation to events and student honors and certificates.

“We stressed that the students sell among their friends and family, so I can see that we have a very supportive extended family that are passionate about Robinwood Elementary. The kids worked hard for this and they definitely deserve all the fun,” Robinson said.

Each grade took a tour through the bounce course and the first-grade students of Holly Watts, Melanie Oberle and Kara Lawrence had a half hour to explore the inflatable playground. After sliding, bouncing and climbing, the activity didn’t manage to dampen their excitement about their party.

First-grader Rudi Lewis had trouble picking favorites during the event.

“All of the bouncy stuff is so fun, I can’t pick just one. Today is my birthday, so having all this to enjoy is making my day really awesome,” she exclaimed.
