ALLIANCES

Ohio Cultural Alliance will gather at 6 p.m. Feb. 6 for a dinner meeting at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman. The topic will be The Honorable David Tod, and the speaker will be Sallie Tod Dutton, great, great, great, great granddaughter of the governor of Ohio from 1862 to 1864. Joe Macbean and his wife, Darlene, will perform on the bagpipes, flute and harp. Reservations may be mailed to OCA, P.O. Box 561, Canfield, OH 44406-0561, no later than Tuesday. Those who attend are urged to take personal items (shampoo, facial tissue, toothpaste, etc.) for donation to Danridge Burgundi Manor nursing home. Membership costs $25 per person, and the cost of each meeting is $15 per paidup member and $20 for each nonmember.

ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 in the gathering room at Park Vista, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. After the continental breakfast and business meeting, Michael Hripko, director of Research and Technology-based Economic Development at Youngstown State University, will speak on “What’s New at YSU — Innovative Student and Business Projects.” Denise Walters Dobson will be hostess. Tri-Gold Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet Feb.8 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. A social at 5:30 p.m. will precede a buffet dinner at 6. Dinner will consist of chicken cordon bleu, roast pork, baked white fish, vegetables, salad, rolls, desert and a beverage. Guest speaker Patty Kostelnak will discuss heart disease in women, and the chapter’s Woman of the Year Award recipient will be announced. Cost is $18. Mahoning Valley Greens, a political-action committee for the Green Party of Mahoning County, meets at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Pig Iron Press Building, 26 N. RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Board of the Youngstown Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will meet at 9 a.m. Feb. 18 at St. William Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren. All Catholic women in the Diocese of Youngstown are welcome. The meeting will begin with light refreshments and conversation and will end by 11:30. Reformers Unanimous, a national Christ-centered addictions program headquartered in Rockford, Ill., meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays at Glenwood Christian Fellowship, 7872 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. The program is open to all adults who struggle with an addiction or a stubborn habit.
