Youngstown man watches jury selection for his trial by Skype

YOUNGSTOWN — Nathaniel Dumas, 35, of East Florida Avenue, watched his murder and aggravated robbery trial by Skype from the Mahoning County Courthouse basement under sheriff deputy guard as jury selection continued in the second-floor courtroom of Judge James C. Evans of common pleas court this morning.

Judge Evans made that arrangement because he said Dumas, who was upset about the compostion of the jury panel, was potentially disruptive.

Dumas is accused of being the getaway driver in the April 2011 Galaxy seafood robbery in which one of his alleged accomplices was fatally shot by a city police officer working security at the North Side business.
