Staff report
WARREN
David Hosking, 24, of Parkman Road, has been indicted on a charge of felonious assault, accused of biting off one third of his girlfriend’s ear Sept. 24, 2011.
The woman said Hosking bit off part of her ear during an argument at his home.
Police later recovered the piece and took it to the hospital, but doctors were unable to re-attach it.
If convicted, Hosking could get up to eight years in prison.
In a separate case, Keith A. Sweitzer, 29, of North Chestnut Street, Niles, has been indicted on multiple charges related to a robbery and kidnapping of an 84-year-old Niles woman Nov. 29 in her Nancy Street home.
The victim said Sweitzer threatened her with a knife and wanted pills or money.
He tied her up with a telephone cord and left her inside the house.
It took four hours for her to free herself and call 911.
Sweitzer had done yard work for the woman, police said.
If convicted of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, passing bad checks and forgery, Sweitzer could get more than 20 years in prison.
Two 19-year-old Girard men were also indicted on charges of aggravated arson, accused of setting a fire in Girard.
Dylan Watson of Hancock Street and Dennis Mohn of Abbey Street face up to eight years in prison if convicted.
Arraignments are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. next Thursday before Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
