Liberty faces up-hill climb

Liberty faces up-hill climb

Liberty school district, I pray for your recovery. You have been led down a dangerous path by the Ohio lawmakers and Department of Education.

Please stay diligent and show them both that local control can work.

Board members, don’t jump ship; our future relies on your work. Become that undercover boss and spend 10 minutes each year with every employee of your district. Your reward, not being much monetarily, goes way beyond what you can buy.

Parents get involved, attend at least one board meeting per year and introduce yourself to everyone there. Spend at least one day a year at your child’s school. All good teachers will welcome you with open arms. Once the teachers know they can get help 100 out of the 165 days a year they will plan on you and it will become the norm. What a great way to use a day off, vacation day or personal day.

Continue this through high school. When we attended conferences in high school, the teachers were split in asking why we were there because our children did not have any problems and wanting to show off their room and what they where teaching.

Everyone, remember these young people are our future, so we have to start today. They cannot wait until tomorrow.

Good luck on a quick recovery, and, as you know, tough times make everyone stronger.
