Highway patrol finds $63,000 in drugs during traffic stop on I-80

Ohio State Highway Patrol arrested two men Wednesday after finding $63,000 worth of marijuana and other drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 80, according to a patrol statement.

Troopers charged the driver, 25-year-old Bryan J. Candito from Los Angeles, with a felony counts of possession of liquid hashish, trafficking in drugs and possession of criminal tools.

They charged passenger Danae K. Bryan, 19 from Wyomissing, Pa., with misdemeanors of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Troopers pulled over the vehicle for marked lanes violation near mile marker 235 on the interstate in Hubbard Township, a release said.

Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle, troopers found 20 grams of marijuana, 10 grams of hashish, 32 ounces of hash oil, four large marijuana-laced brownies, according to a press release and items used for marijuana cultivation.

The release said both suspects were sent to Trumbull County Jail and Candito could face up to nine-and-a-half years in prison along with a $17,500 fine.
