Staff report

BOARDMAN

The case against two men accused of drug trafficking has been bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury.

George Washington Jr., 29, of Youngstown, and Christian Clinkscale, 29, of Lusby, Md., were arrested during a Jan. 16 drug raid at a Wolosyn Circle apartment. Also arrested was Janay Rogers, 19, of 2075 Wolosyn Circle, on charges of permitting drug abuse, a felony, and drug possession, a misdemeanor.

Boardman police confiscated 9.9 grams of heroin, 6 grams of crack cocaine, a 9-milimeter pistol and about $1,000, a detective said.

Washington was arraigned Jan. 19 and pleaded not guilty to a charge of resisting arrest. He did not enter a plea on the charges of drug trafficking and having weapons under disability, according to court records. In 2004, Washington, also known as Black Face, was federally indicted on drug charges.

Court records show that Clinkscale also did not enter a plea to the drug-trafficking charge Jan. 19 and pleaded not guilty to possessing drug-abuse instruments. Rogers did not enter a plea to drug abuse and pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor drug possession. She will be back in court Feb. 28 for a preliminary hearing.
