Report of possible abduction attempt

YOUNGSTOWN

A 12-year-old girl, who was the subject of a possible abduction attempt Monday while walking her dog near the intersection of Woodcrest and Magnolia avenues, told police she saw the same man, but in a different car, Tuesday at the same location.

A witness told police a man driving a burgundy-colored Cadillac approached the girl about 4:40 p.m. Monday and motioned for her to get into his car.

When she refused and the suspect started to get out of his vehicle, the girl ran, leaving her dog behind.

The next day, the girl saw a man in a red Pontiac Grand Am at the same location and thought it was the same person who was in the Cadillac the previous day.

However, other witnesses said it was not the same man.

The man driving the Pontiac told police he was working at the time of Monday’s attempted abduction.
