Party will launch kids’ campaign

The Youngstown YMCA will launch its annual fundraising effort with the Strong Kids Campaign Party at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., Boardman.

This year’s chairman of the Strong Kids campaign is Gary Mrozek, CEO of Hometown Pharmacies. It was established to raise funds to provide financial assistance to underprivileged youth, families and individuals for membership and/or program fees. The 2011 campaign donations totaled more than $470,000 and presented more than $1,000,000 in scholarships to nearly 3,000 children.

The public is invited to attend the event, which will feature a gourmet buffet, silent auction, 50-50 raffle and dancing to the Disco Inferno band.

Tickets for the event are $50 in advance and $75 at the door. They can be purchased at the Davis Y, the Central Y, or online at www.YoungstownYMCA.org.
