NTSB: Prop apparently not working in plane crash
THOMASVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Federal investigators say on propeller of a small plane that fatally crashed in central Pennsylvania apparently wasn’t working at the time of a crash three days before Christmas.
A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board says Brian Robertson’s Cessna 441 crashed nearly nose-first when it went down Dec. 22 near York Airport after a cross-country flight.
The Huntington Beach, Calif. man was the only person aboard. He had departed from Long Beach Airport earlier in the day, bound for York.
An NTSB public affairs officer tells the York Daily Record it will take 12 or 18 months to complete a final report with a cause for the crash.
