Jail at capacity

Jail at capacity

WARREN

Trumbull County jail officials notified local judges that the jail once again has reached capacity and they should refrain from sending nonviolent offenders there for now.

Sheriff Thomas Altiere said the facility now houses about 295 inmates, which is above its 280-inmate capacity.

The facility will take any offender on charges “from domestic violence and above,” Altiere said. In some cases, judges might be able to sentence someone to report to the jail in a couple of weeks instead of immediately, Altiere added.
