Ohio woman injured when her SUV is struck by train

COLUMBUS (AP) — Police say a 45-year-old woman from central Ohio was injured when her sport utility vehicle was struck by a train.

Crystal Keller’s vehicle was hit on a Norfolk Southern track on the north side of Columbus just after 5 p.m. Monday. The woman from suburban Worthington was hospitalized in stable condition.

The Columbus Dispatch reports police say witnesses told them Keller went around the lowered railroad-crossing gates.

Sgt. Bruce Whittaker says the train hit the vehicle on the passenger side and pushed it, breaking a gate on the east side of the track. No one else was in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
