After exchanging wedding vows at the Millennium Bostonian Hotel, Erin Elizabeth Meister and John Toomey, both of New York City, left for a honeymoon in Hawaii.

The Rev. Ingo Dutzmann officiated over the July 16, 2011, ceremony for the daughter of Thomas and Ann Meister of Poland and the son of Bernie and Cathy Toomey of Dover, N.H.

A reception immediately followed at the hotel.

Mrs. Toomey is employed as a kindergarten teacher at the Bronx Charter School for the Arts in New York. She earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at Ohio University and attends Hunter College in New York for graduate work, specializing in childhood literacy.

Mr. Toomey attends Columbia University. He served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Medic and completed two tours of duty in Iraq.

The bride’s fitted A-line gown was fashioned in diamond white satin and featured a corset closure, sweetheart neckline and a hint of beading.

Attending the bride was her sister, Kristin Meister, who was the matron of honor. She wore a black satin cocktail-length dress with an electric-blue sash, as did the bridesmaids, Holly Ling, Jennifer Pavelko, Samantha Pavelko, Emilie Ridge, Monica Simko and Sara Walling.

James Toomey served as his brother’s best man, and groomsmen were Ian Flynn, Tim Boyle, Adam Gutowski, Steve Puglisi, Jake Schwartz and Jeff Nolin.
