Crash sends eight to hospital

The Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car accident Saturday involving two teenage drivers that sent eight people to the hospital.

According to a OSHP release, the two vehicles, each with three passengers, collided at the intersection of Midlothian Boulevard and Hillman Street.

Marc Hood, 18 from Canfield, was driving east on Midlothian Boulevard when Tierra Rankins, 19 from Youngstown, struck Hood’s vehicle as she was driving south on Hillman Street, a release said.

Hood and the three passengers were taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, where hospital officials said he was released Sunday. Rankins and her three passengers were taken to Northside Medical Center. There is no word on her condition or the conditions of the six others.
