Dr. Howard W. Jones, president of Youngstown College, was doing his part as five students passed some famous hats for the 1950 March of Dimes campaign. Youngstown was one of 30 cities in the nation that got to use 25 hats that belonged to entertainment and sports stars to raise money to fight polio. The students in this photo, which ran Jan. 17, 1950, were, from left: Dolores Miller, Jody DeGenaro, Dorothy Wallis, Mary Lou Rawson and Charles R. Brown. Some of the hats belonged to Hopalong Cassidy, Danny Kaye, Al Capp, Eve Arden, Sam Goldwyn and Bob Feller.
