Service restored

CAMPBELL

Telephone service was restored about 2:30 a.m. Saturday to everyone who lost service here Wednesday because of damage to an underground cable.

Service already had been restored to the Campbell Police Department and other city offices about 10:15 p.m. Friday. During the day Friday, calls to the police, fire and water departments were being rerouted through cellphones. The Mahoning County dispatch center handled Campbell 911 calls to police and fire, so emergency service was not interrupted.

About 2,500 people were affected by the outage.

YOUNGSTOWN

The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 141 will have a press conference at 10 a.m. Monday in the front lobby of the Mahoning County jail, 110 Fifth Ave., to issue the FOP’s position regarding Sheriff Randall Wellington’s decision to stop doing video arraignments for Youngstown Municipal Court.
